Weekender: Jan 29-31

Wow, can you believe it's the last weekend of January already?  We were just partying it up for new years, right?  It just means we have to keep living it up every moment, before it all passes by!  I know I have been a bit MIA lately, and thank you to the few of you who reached out to make sure I was ok (I'm good!: ) - I've just been more focused on other life things, but that's why you should be an NYColor facebook fan or  follow on Twitter, because I have been able to update those more lately.  Do it anyways!

In general though, I feel like there haven't been as many things to check out (except Tim Burton @ MoMa, very cool!)...but wait til it gets warmer: ).  Summer will be here soon enough = street festivals, outdoor fun, and lots of other free events!  In the meantime...here are some upcoming things I'm checking out, and you should come along too!

• 2010 Idiotard is on tomorrow!  I'm still reading up about this, but apparently it's like Alaska's dog sledding event, except with teams of 5 in NYC pushing their own custom shopping carts...so that's what it is if you see it!  [Starting point is in Socrates Sculpture Park, Astoria]
• 945p-2a: Jazz Night w/ Victor Lin + Joshua Crumbly @ Knickerbocker - great for a date or just to catch up over drinks and dessert! [33 University Place (at E 9th St)]
• 11-12p: DJ Lani Love is spinning @ Public Assembly in Williamsburg!  Definitely a good time!

SUN 1/31 -

• 8p: The Grammys are on!

NYRewind: 1/25 The Daily Show w/ Jon Stewart

On Monday, I joined Karrie G. @ The Daily Show w/ Jon Stewart!  The special guest was Bill Gates, who did not give away any cars (haha), but he talked about his foundation and focus on fighting global poverty and malaria.  Jon was super funny as well.  Another great NY event: )

NYRewind: 1/16 The Engadget Show

A bit overdue, but check out Greg R. and I's adventure to The Engadget Show!  This is Engadget.com's webcast show that features the latest in technology.  This was a free event, and Greg and I both entered and got a guaranteed seat from Sprint.  It was a great event!

This show featured Eric Tsang from Google, chatting (and giving away) the Nexus 1 phone!  Funny guys!

The Engadget team also showed some of the latest from the Consumer Electronic Show (CES), including the tablet that everyone has been buzzing about today AND a cool flying device that can be controlled with an iPhone.

We didn't win the phone unfortunately, but we enjoyed the interview and seeing some cool things to look forward to in 2010.  Thanks to Greg for the heads up!
